Therapeutic Ultrasound
High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)

The worldwide cancer treatment market has grown in size to 53 billion USD in 2007. The growth of chronic diseases such as cancer is a global trend in the aging population, and this increases the demand for medical services. In addition, changes in lifestyle and the environment may be increasing the risk of cancer, so that 14.7 million cancer patients are projected by 2020.

Since 2007, ALPINION has been taking a leading role in government R&D projects to develop cancer treatment technologies that utilize “high intensity focused ultrasound” (HIFU).

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) as a cancer treatment does not harm the patient, or cause side effects or pain. This new treatment promises better outcomes and an improved quality of life for more patients.

The ALPINION HIFU cancer treatment technique will be combined in the future with diagnostic and therapeutic methodologies such as biotechnology and contrast agent imaging. These advanced clinical techniques will be applied to targeted drug delivery, transcutaneous drug delivery, cerebral hemorrhage treatment, osteoporosis treatment, chronic pain management, ,gene therapy delivery, and other yet unforeseen applications.

ALPINION develops and produces both diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound, which are the two essential components to an optimized HIFU system. Our cutting-edge acoustic technology, applied to both diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound systems, contributes to more reliable, predictable, and effective clinical outcomes.
